Anything but Ordinary

It is said a known Devil is always better than the unknown .What they don’t tell is how heavy the chains of unknown feel like, your senses tend to blur, even dreams offer no comfort but tend to reprimand  ,it feels similar to a person quenching with thirst looking for quantum of solace.
People tend to scorn at you for paying attention to ridiculous things, mostly blaming you for being over ambitious, yet all you feel is tiredness, aghast at how one is willing to live and make peace with mediocrity. On most days it seems you are walking among dead, unaware souls who appear so blissful that one questions their own sanity.
Being a strong believer of virtue and will within humans, you just want to find your place in this world.
It is not luxury or fame that you desire, but a believe that you are capable of something, that you won’t pass from this world just as you came .You wish to feel redeemed, worthy of your existence .You wish to love something from the bottom of your heart and give a shape to it with your hands, like a mother would groom her child.
It is the hardest things to desire for; it has no price tag, and no one can provide it to you.
So one tends to alienate oneself, keep digging for it, earning a few disappointments and valuable lessons on the journey, failures gripping at your neck like snakes, and desperately hoping that someday destiny reveals itself for better.

And all I have to say is that if you are so, you are not alone, just keep hanging in there. I am sure you will be just fine.

Deliberate act of Kindness

His sunken eyes, pale skin made her painfully aware of him .She tried not to think of days, he had stood tall, cruel lines of his jaw which chose words carefully to inflict scars on her.
It took her sometime to realize that this deliberate act of cruelty was how he had chosen to love her.
More than she knew his heart broke each time her eyes would swell with tears that  dared not to betray her .She had seen his anger and disappointment ,but never his pride and love .
And now it was too late, he was there, lifeless, a shadow of this former self. It tore her apart to know that she would never be able to tell him that she had finally understood why.
Being a politician’s daughter was never easy, they had no life of their own, especially the honorable ones, that truly cared.
Her father had been such and had always found himself isolated .So he chose to break her in little pieces himself before the world could and teach her to pick them herself , even though it meant alienating her .
And she had been foolish, youthful, addicted to fairy tales; she had just wanted a knight with shining armour to sweep her off her feet. She used to picture herself as a damsel in distress with a tyrant father who enjoyed making her miserable.
Her foolishness had cost him his life, yet his final words to her was that even though he had not been the best; she should know that no one had loved her more.
As the final rituals were completed, she whispered to him “Father, I would sacrifice anything to have you stand by me, do the pass de deux with you in the waltz of this politics”.
She insanely expected him to answer back and say “Foolish girl, you must never show vulnerability “.
She wiped her tears, and swore to set things right, there was no going back now.

Here I go ...

SHE DREAMT OF HIM .

She dreamt of him,
Her nightmare, her knight,
Hard to separate,
Cursed he was,
Lust and thirst in his veins .

Yet, cursed she was,
She dreamt of him,
Good days, he shower her with flowers,
Hold her like porcelain,
Bad days, would crash her,
Inflict wounds on her soul .

Broken and twisted,
Driven insane with his needs,
Forsaking her loyalty,
Still helpless like a child,
Addicted to legacy of his blood,
Begging for her grace .

Each time she would pick up,
Those shattered pieces in vain,
Hoping it was for last,
Still it vanished at dawn,
Forgotten like an insignificant dream,
Was she to blame,
Cause she dreamt of him?

Doors and Walls ( Trifecta : Week Seventy-Five )

There he stood, alone, outcast and abash, stinking from blood and rotten flesh of his brothers.
And yet all he could ever muster was pity for their apathetic souls, one that did not care for freedom or justice, accustomed to torment.
They choose to close their door rather than embrace the uprising,
But that did not cause him agony, it was the walls surrounding them that kept him awake, so strong that even death of their own kin could not crack it.
He was being crucified, so as to set an example for others .They took amusement thinking they had sought an end fitting for a legend.
He had no care to beg for mercy or feel sorrow for his end.
In his final hour, he prayed that someday they would wake up , look outside the window and get the courage to break free from their  chains ,  rise and fight  for their prerogative ,one which was practiced so freely by others .
And he would watch from heavens cheering them, and in the aftermath will welcome them in his arms.
For now, he took solace in the fact that he was dying a free man.

Broken not Bored (Trifecta Week :Sixty Five )

The dull-orange sky made her think of days with rose-tinted glasses accompanied with
a devil-may-care  attitude , now replaced by stained-glass sharp around the edges ,
raven-black nights  ,
but at least she wasn't bored-to-death .

Home ( Trifecta Week Sixty three )

Back then we didn’t have fire or food, but we sought after a dream seen in wake ,of having a home in a foreign land, it fed us and chanted sweet lullabies.
